Silver For Joy
High pressure laminate from Abet’s new Silver collection has been used to great effect at the JOY homewares and fashion retail store in Norwich.
The store is the first of a planned roll-out across the South East of England and Abet’s Silver 2705 laminate has been used on the changing room doors and shelves throughout the store.
The scheme was designed by SHH Architects with main contractors, Peach Projects. The silver laminate with its deeply etched patterns adds a classic touch to the store and a clean ultra-modern feel.
Commenting on the design, Peach Projects’ Mark Kent says, “The Silver laminate looks fantastic in-store and really adds to the overall aesthetic appeal and the retail experience for the customer. The highly reflective surface with its inlaid patterns is interesting and lightens up the changing rooms; it also makes a great covering for the shelving providing a nice footing for the display items”.

Laminate adds flavour to drinks manufacturer
Oberflex Real Wood Laminate has been used extensively throughout the refurbished headquarters of drinks manufacturer Orangina in the South of France. Oberflex is exclusively available in the UK from Abet Ltd.
Over 300 square metres of Oberflex Straight-grain Bookmatched Anegre in a satin finish was specified by the architects to create a striking and dramatic vertical interior for this well-known international company.
Oberflex is a popular choice for architects and designers as it combines the benefits of a real wood veneer with the performance of high pressure laminate (HPL). The slicing method used in its manufacture provides alternative straight-grain or flowered veneer for a book-matched or random-matched result. The laminate, surface finished and ready-to-bond, is suitable for a wide range of horizontal and vertical applications.

Lakeland Limited
PARQWOOD real wood veneer HPL flooring from Abet Ltd has been chosen for the refurbishment of a number of Lakeland Limited stores throughout the country.
The completed stores now enjoy the inherent beauty of a real Oak finish with all the benefits of a high pressure laminate, including durability, ease of maintenance and high resistance to marking and scuffing.
PARQWOOD provides the perfect solution where specifiers want all the visual appeal of a natural wood floor but without the associated problems that a real wood floor suffers from. These include damage from stiletto-heels, warping of planks due to over zealous cleaning, and being very susceptible dirt and staining.
The designers in charge of the refurbishment program are Lumsden Design Partnership working with different flooring contractors. Senior Designer Richard Hudson comments, “We are responsible for the overall refurbishment of Lakeland Limited stores on a national basis. We tend to use Abet’s PARQWOOD laminate as the quality of the timber is high and it is very durable. We needed to specify a floor which was visually very appealing but one which could withstand the heavy pedestrian traffic as well as trolleys. PARQWOOD provided the answer combining the twin benefits of a beautiful finish with intrinsic strength.”
