Portman - Banking on a Real Wood Laminate
Oberflex Real Wood laminate, supplied by Abet, has been used in over 80 new and refurbished branches of the Portman Building Society.
Oberflex Light Ash is used to clad all the counter-fronts while on the countertops Print HPL Beige Manhattan from Abet’s Colours range was used. The complementing colours of these two laminates gives a uniform feel throughout the customer and cashier areas. Another laminate, Verde Lauro, a vibrant green, was used on doors and vertical surfaces to reflect the Society’s colour scheme.
Portman Group Estates Manager Peter Saunders explains, “We decided to use Abet laminates within new and refurbished branches as they provide a quality wear resistant solution suitable for this type of application. As customer areas are susceptible to damage, we needed a material which has the appeal of real wood but the strength and benefits of high pressure laminate.”
Oberflex is exclusively available in the UK from Abet. It is suitable for a wide range of internal applications such as the cladding of doors and walls, horizontal surfaces and display units.

Perfect for Peugeot
One of the stunning new bright colourful laminate from our PRINT HPL range of decorative laminates has been selected for the refurbishment of over 360 Peugeot car showrooms throughout the UK.
The laminate is being used in the showrooms to clad the sales forum desks, image walls and display stands. Plannar Interiors, responsible for fitting out the showrooms, have specified the laminate because of its high performance, strong visual appeal and because it complements Peugeot’s corporate colour scheme.
James Scott, Plannar’s Peugeot Account Manager, says: “We have used Abet’s laminates for a while now on this and other projects and have been very impressed. Consistency of quality and colour are very important for projects like these and PRINT HPL has proven to be a very good choice. The laminate can be postformed without any difficulty and Abet is very good at helping us to solve any problems if they occur. We and Peugeot are very satisfied with the results.

Optical Blue
Hundreds of sheets of PRINT high pressure laminate from Abet’s Colours collection have been used to create a stunning interior for the optician Michel Guillon’s new facility in London’s Duke of York Square.
Designed and specified by Ab Rogers of KRD Design, Abet’s 499 ‘Blu California’ in a gloss finish has been used to clad everything from the dramatic and stunning display wall to the consultancy rooms, plinths, archive units and even the seating in the waiting areas.
The Colours range is a remarkable eclectic collection of over 150 colours ranging from rich strong and vibrant colours to subtle pastel shades. Abet excels in applications such as this, where consistency of colour reproduction between sheets is vital and the strength, durability and pure versatility of the high pressure laminate is highlighted.
A similar design scheme is being used for a second store in Notting Hill Gate, to be opened shortly. Ab Rogers explains, “We knew immediately we wanted to use laminate from Abet for this exciting and visionary application. Quite simply, Abet has the best colours at the best price.
