Ringing the Changes
Thousands of sheets of Printwood laminate are being used for the national refurbishment of BT Cellnet retail stores.
Two species, Tanganica Wood and Cilegio Wood, are used to give rich visual appeal to the free-standing gondolas and wall bay cabinets in the stores. The subtle variants in the grain provide a traditional look together with the differences expected with any real wood.
Designed and specified by Rodney Fitch, the new look is currently being rolled out nationwide. Project designer Paul Steven says, "We have specified and worked with Abet for a while and decided that Printwood would be a good choice for this prestige application. The finish is very tactile and the colour is warm and pleasant - an ideal combination for retail display units."
John Lee, Project Manager at shopfitters Sloane Group, who were responsible for manufacture and fit-out of the display fixtures says, "We find that Printwood is easy to work with. The material has all the advantages of high pressure laminate combined with the beauty and interest of a real wood finish."

Real Wood Laminates are a Winner
Oberflex Real Wood laminate has recently been used to spectacular effect in the refurbished Millennium Grandstand at Newmarket Racecourse.
Over 70 sheets of Oberflex American Cherry have been used to clad the counter tops and fascias of the tiered restaurant. Mowlems were the main contractors with Timbertec contracted to work on the interior finishes.
Nick Le Rougetel, Managing Director of Timbertec says “Oberflex is the ideal choice of laminate for heavy duty applications such as this. Not only does the wood look good and have a luxurious feel but its robust strength and durability ensures lifelong high performance.”

Prestige Flooring for Prestige Cars
The new Halesowen Audi showroom has recently been completed using Parqwood real wood laminate flooring. Specified by designers SDA, Parqwood is now being used for all Audi Showrooms nationwide.
Parqwood is believed to be the first laminate flooring system to combine the beauty of natural wood with the strength and durability of laminate. The flooring has PRINT HPL high pressure laminate bonded to both sides of its core. This gives it exceptional resistance to impact as well as high resistance to acid, oil, petrol and other contaminants. The balanced laminate system will withstand shoe heels and even lighted cigarettes will not mark the surface.
Parqwood can be laid over most existing floor finishes, as well as new subfloors without expensive preparation work. It is quick and easy to install with tongued and grooved joints. The flooring is maintenance free, does not need polishing.
